Dr Anna Fenton discusses complementary treatment therapies for menopausal symptoms.
Endocrinologist
Anna is a Gynaecological Endocrinologist who completed her medical degree at the University of Auckland School of Medicine; a PhD in bone cell biology at the University of Melbourne; and post-doctoral research at Genentech, a biotechnology company in San Francisco. She returned to New Zealand in 1992 and became involved in establishing the New Zealand branch of the Australasian Menopause Society. She went on to join the Board of the Australasian Menopause Society and served as its president for two years. She remains involved with the International Menopause Society, after serving as its journal’s Co-Editor-in-Chief from 2008 until 2017. Along with three senior colleagues, she started New Zealand’s first physician-run bone density service in Auckland in 1995, and had the thrill of watching the service grow and flourish.
